Volunteer Counselor Training and Student Internships

The VCS Volunteer Counselor Training is for people who are interested in becoming a volunteer VCS counselor. You need not have prior experience or qualification in counseling, just an interest in counseling, an ability to listen to people, and some life experience.VCS counselors offer much needed support to financially-struggling residents of Rockland County who are dealing with life problems such as divorce, parent/child issues, illness, depression, aging, relationships, and domestic violence.
Volunteers should have four to five hours per week available. There is a non-refundable fee for the training. Candidates with special qualifications such as cultural expertise or fluency in a second language are most welcome.
