Brooke Malloy Headshot 2024 SQUARE

Brooke Malloy (she/her)

& The Rockland Pride Center

Brooke Malloy (she/her) is the founding Executive Director of the Phyllis B. Frank Rockland County Pride Center, a 501(c)(3) LGBTQ+ community center with an anti-racist, social justice mission. With the dedication of her team, the Pride Center has become a vital resource in Rockland County, providing community events, advocacy, survival services, and professional training to support and protect LGBTQ+ people. This work is especially critical in a time when LGBTQ+ rights, safety, and dignity face relentless challenges.

The Pride Center was born out of VCS Inc., where Phyllis B. Frank led groundbreaking LGBTQ+ advocacy for decades. Originally a program called Gay Pride Rockland, the initiative provided crucial support to the community within VCS before evolving into a standalone center. Brooke and her team guided this transition, bringing a bold vision for what Rockland County could and should be for Queer people.

Sarah Goforth Headshot SQUARE

Sarah Goforth

Sarah Goforth served as the Executive Director of VCS Inc in Rockland County. Alongside her team of dedicated staff, Sarah opened an Article 31 Mental Health Clinic in 2015 during a time when the county had a high need for services. Not long after, the Clinic expanded to include services in Rockland schools. The revenue generated from the Clinic allowed VCS to renovate its building, grow its Spanish language services, and create a superior graduate intern program. Sarah currently lives in Southern Delaware with her husband and dog. She is a substitute teacher for a local school district, allowing her career to come full circle from 1982 until today.
