​Caregiver Health & Wellness Group in Partnership with the Finkelstein Library

This group is a free service that provides resources for individuals who are caring for an elderly spouse, grandparent, mother, or father, relative, or non-related person such as a good friend. Members will receive guidance, coping strategies, and share useful resources that have helped them through the caregiving journey. This group meets at the Finkelstein Memorial Library, 24 Chestnut Street, in the Fielding Room (3rd Floor), Spring Valley, NY. The group meets every Monday from 3:00pm to 4:00pm. This group is a free service for families of current Promenade residents that provides resources for individuals who are caring for an elderly spouse, grandparent, mother, or father, relative, or non-related person such as a good friend. Members will receive guidance, coping strategies, and share useful resources that have helped them through the caregiving journey. This group meets every Tuesday from 4:00pm to 5:00pm via Zoom. ​Older Adults Counseling Program

This program serves older adult residents of Rockland County who would benefit from discussing age related concerns with a trained counselor. Multilingual, one-on-one weekly counseling sessions may be in-office, virtual, or at public venues such as a park, library, etc. For adults 60+ years of age. Free while funding is available.

Support Groups for Caregivers of Older Adults

These groups provide information, resources and alternatives for those concerned with the challenges associated with aging parents or relatives. These weekly groups meet for an hour on Tuesday evenings at 5:00pm in-person at VCS and via Zoom, and Wednesday mornings at 11:00am, at VCS and via Zoom. All are welcome. Free of charge. ​Life Transitions Group

Older adults aging in place face changes that require good coping skills and mutual support from others. This group is a dynamic safe place for older adults to develop new relationships and learn from one another how to face life’s most difficult changes. Updated information, guest speakers and peer support are offered weekly.

Groups are held Monday mornings at VCS in New City from 11:00am to 12:00pm. This group is held simultaneously in-person and via Zoom.

Life Experience Group - New City, NY

This weekly peer support group allows residents of Sunrise Assisted Living to talk in a group setting that is safe and non-judgmental. The group allows residents to speak of their physical, mental and aging issues and encourages the residents to share their life story. This group will help increase social support, connections and resiliency as you age in place.

Mondays in person 10:00 am – 11:00 am

Peer Support Group - Pearl River, NY

The residents of the Promenade at Blue Hill have the opportunity to provide peer support to each other on Wednesday 3 pm – 4 pm in the lounge.

Wednesdays in person 3:00 pm – 4:00 pm

Contributions are voluntary and confidential and are used to expand the services for which they are received.  No one will be denied services because of an inability or unwillingness to contribute.  Suggested contributions level equal to the cost of the service for participants who self-disclose income at or above 185% of Federal Poverty Level. Services are funded in part by the Administration for Community Living, New York State Office for the Aging and the Rockland County Office for the Aging.
