Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

VCS Number: (845) 634-5729

What is the Employee Assistance Program (EAP)?

Relationships, young children, teens, aging parents, finances and health are just some of the things that worry all of us at times. Sometimes, when things feel like “too much”, talking to a caring trained professional can help. Check with your employer to ask if they have arranged an Employee Assistance Program with VCS. The program includes:

  • An assessment appointment with a member of the VCS professional staff and two additional appointments if necessary.
  • These three appointments are available at no cost to you.
  • If it is felt that you need other kinds of services (i.e. medical check-up, testing, substance abuse treatment etc.) VCS staff will assist you in locating the right help.

Can I continue after the three appointments?

If you would like more counseling after your three free sessions, VCS staff will assist you in finding someone who takes your insurance. Or you may ask to be assigned a VCS counselor, available at a very modest sliding scale.

What else should I know about EAP?

Counseling sessions take place once per week for an hour. We are open most days from 9am-9pm. All counseling is completely confidential.

All interactions with VCS will be completely confidential. However, if you have been directed to come to VCS as a condition of employment, your employer may request your permission to ask for an assessment from VCS.

How do I make an appointment?

Contact VCS at (845) 634-5729 and speak with Ruth Colón-Wagner, LMSW at ext 321. Mention you are interested in the Employee Assistance Program.
