While it was a difficult decision, our team decided to cancel the 17th Golf Outing to Support VCS Child Abuse Prevention Programs on August 3 because we care about your safety and well-being during these unprecedented times.
Support VCS Child Abuse Prevention Programs Today
VCS has remained open and has adapted its delivery of programs and services throughout the pandemic. Now our means of fundraising must also adapt. Funds raised through our annual Golf Outing make up 100% of funding for VCS Child Abuse Prevention Programs. Although we will not be gathering in person, we are asking you to support our goal of raising funds for these critically needed programs.
The need for our programs is greater now more than ever. Children are specifically vulnerable to abuse during COVID-19. Child abuse and neglect can have a tremendous impact on lifelong health and well-being. Exposure to violence in childhood increases the risks of injury, future violence, victimization, substance abuse, sexually transmitted infections, delayed brain development, lower educational attainment, and limited employment opportunities.
With your help we can lessen the impact of coronavirus on the well-being of children in our community. Please know that any amount will do. We thank you for your continued support of these programs.
